So, we’ve been living in Nashville since Friday, but not at our new place. Because background checks take a couple days to clear since we’re coming from California, we had to bum it in a motel since Friday night. We’re praying everything is ok come Monday, because I just want to move in already because DRIVING WITH A TRAILER IS THE WORST.
I hate having to peer through the window to make sure no one’s checking out the car or trailer, and feel bad for taking up 4 spots overnight.
It doesn’t help that I didn’t book us at the Ritz for the 3 nights we were away from our apartment. Instead, I chose the cheaper, $40/night at a Rodeway Inn. Bad choice, Taylor. Let’s just say fresh flowers and all the Glade plug-ins won’t do this room justice. We also heard gunshots last night. Not near us, but then again, we’ve never heard gunshots before.
We’re excited to be heading into downtown to attend the Mosaic Nashville service this morning. Can’t wait to see what God is doing in Nashville through His children there.
Don’t worry though, I got a free night stay a a better, more local, and safe hotel for our last night before we head to the apartment.
We just can’t wait to start moving in and adjusting to our place.
Our prayer list:
1) That we are able to move in by tomorrow (Monday) because the background check is pending.
2) Jenny’s been getting random head- and stomachaches. We’re thinking it may be a combination of the food and heat. Hopefully the adjustment to a new environment shouldn’t take too long.
3) Jenny will start looking for a job out here soon, so we pray to meet the right connections for her!
Thank you all for the love, support and messages. Please keep us updated as well!
Love,
Taylor & Jenny
We had planned to arrive in town (Nashville) by Saturday morning to check out apartments, but Jenn and I toughed out 12+ driving hours Wednesday and Thursday to make it to Memphis this morning at 4am. It’s not quite Nashville, but its all we could bear before something bad happened.
Through numerous constructions being done ALL along the I-40, one-lane roads for miles at a time, intense traffic accidents, winds worse than Porter Ranch, and barely passing by every 18-wheeler on the highway with inches between the ditch and the wheels, we made it. A 2000+ mile trip squeezed into 2 days….with a pit stop to the Grand Canyon of course!
I can’t believe we were able to make it here in such a short time, WITH a 8’ long trailer joined at the trucks hip. Oy.
Much credit goes out to Jenny, who, for just barely getting use to driving the complete opposite of her Prius, managed amazingly at handling the Xterra with aforementioned trailer.
Thank you Jesus for bringing us here safely! Now, to use this extra day wisely in our apartments hunt!
Thank you all for your continued support and prayers!

(Still getting use to this whole marriage thing)
Can’t believe we drove through all three states in one day.
Texas and Oklahoma, I would not mind visiting you one day. Arkansas, I don’t know what to think of you..you left me with a bad taste in my mouth. Maybe it was because of Subway guy making our spicy Italian decided it was alright to use the same glove to make our sub to seat flies outta your view.
Just saying.
